Cassidy to Mentor class of 17
2015 Speedway Australia Rising Star graduate Jessica Cassidy of Newcastle will mentor recipients during the 2017 program to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra commencing April 18.
Cassidy, an accomplished Late Model Sedan and Speedcar competitor is excited by her appointment and looks forward to working with the group of young drivers from across the country.
“I'm extremely honoured to be chosen for the role as Mentor for this year's Speedway Australia Rising Star Program.” Cassidy said, “In my role I aim to assist each participant in understanding that their commitment to this program is the key to making the most of every piece of information given. This program is a great way to project young drivers to a higher level within the sport.”
The Valvoline/Flair Dance Wear supported racer reflects on her experience during 2015 (where she studied with fellow competitors Lachie McHugh, Courtney O’Hehir, Kaiden Manders and Jack Bell) as providing a tool kit that enabled her to focus on personal development and her state-of-mind whilst racing, “This is truly a wonderful opportunity for those who have been accepted.”
Cassidy studies Civil Engineering at Newcastle Uni and was accepted by the AFL NSW Academy which provides opportunity for talent to be approached by the Sydney Swans.
